Domesday’s stock are ready to run

Son of Silver Slipper Stakes winner makes $180,000 at Karaka

As the news filtered through about the recent passing of sire Red Ransom, his G2-winning son Domesday was responsible for providing one of the top sellers at today’s New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale at Karaka.

Entering the ring as Lot 76, the black colt from the draft of Mana Park was secured by Mr CJT & Mrs G Davison for $180,000.

Out of the Stakes-performed Snaadee mare Sansadee, the colt was bred by Canberra-based trainer Bernie Howlett before being sold as a weanling at the 2008 Magic Millions Weanling Sale for $26,000.

Currently covering his fourth book of mares, Domesday’s progeny have just started to hit the race track where he has already been represented Divorces, a narrow second on her debut.

The sale also saw some positive results for Darley’s Exceed And Excel, with his colts from Standard 2080 Limited's Miss Krovanh and Mr WJ Schwarzenberg's Night Chaser selling for $240,000 and $220,000 respectively.
