Darley has announced the stud fees of its 25 stallions that will stand in Australia for the 2010 breeding season.
Street Cry, who has become a thrilling source of some of the world's most brilliant and memorable thoroughbreds in recent years, will head the roster at a fee of $137,500 (inc.GST).
New stallions Medaglia d'Oro (pictured), sire of four individual G1 winners from just two crops to race and whose extraordinary daughter Rachel Alexandra earned Horse of the Year honours in 2009 will stand at Kelvinside at $88,000 (inc. GST); and Von Costa de Hero, acknowledged by the entire industry for his phenomenal run in the Golden Slipper, win in the Sires' Produce Stakes and placings in the Caulfield and Australian Guineas, will stand at Northwood Park at $16,500 (inc. GST).
Joining Von Costa de Hero at Northwood Park is young stallion Domesday.
Henry Plumptre, Darley's Managing Director in Australia said, "We have an outstanding roster of stallions to offer breeders this year and the achievements of Street Cry, Commands, Lonhro and Shamardal during the past twelve months have been tremendous. We are very enthusiastic about the progeny of our younger horses, some of which are appearing for the first time at the forthcoming breeding stock sales."
Plumptre continued, "Domesday is an exciting young horse who has shown good potential underlined by his two-year-olds this year so we have decided to relocate him to Northwood Park. Some of our best two-year-olds are by him and we will support him with more Darley mares this year. We look forward to talking with our clients about all our stallions and their mares in the coming weeks."
Darley has also advised that their stallions will stand between Kelvinside at Aberdeen in NSW and Northwood Park at Seymour in Victoria in 2010. Plumptre explained, "We have two world-class stallion facilities at Aberdeen and Seymour that were developed with our long-term stallion requirements in mind. Operationally and commercially it is makes sense to consolidate our stallion operations to these two locations. "
