Having her second run back of her five-year-old campaign, the Peter Snowden-trained Brasileira (Commands) proved too good for last season’s G1 AJC Oaks winner Once Were Wild, scoring by a nose in the Mona Lisa Stakes at Wyong on September 3.
Racing in the silks of Sheikh Mohammed, Brasileira has been a model of consistency throughout her short career to date, having recorded five wins and fives places from just 12 starts.
Bred by Woodlands Stud, Brasileira is the first Stakes winner for her dam Interlagos, a Quest For Fame full-sister to the Listed Debutant Stakes winner Le Mans.
A prolific sire of winners, Commands ended the 09/10 racing season having sired more individual winners than any other sire, and has started the current season in fine form, siring 18 individual winners to currently sit in second position.
Commands stands at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $66,000 including GST.
