Arrowfield's John Messara, one of Australia's most significant breeder has endorsed the worldwide appeal of Street Cry by confirming that his champion racemare Miss Finland will visit the Darley flag bearer this season.
Messara has long espoused the view that Australian breeders need to breed for the international buying bench and the mating of Miss Finland with Street Cry (pictured) should produce a foal with truly international appeal.
Miss Finland was the darling of her generation winning five G1 races, the STC Golden Slipper and the VRC Australian Guineas against the colts and the VRC Oaks, VATC 1000 Guineas and Arrowfield Stud Stakes against her own sex.
Street Cry sired his 12th individual G1 winner last weekend when Here Comes Ben won the Forego Handicap at Saratoga. His southern hemisphere-based runners are headed by the dual G1 winner Whobegotyou and Melbourne Cup hero Shocking, while his northern hemisphere runners are led by the unbeaten Zenyatta, the history-making Street Sense and the multiple G1-winning sprinter Street Boss.
A thrilling source of some of the world’s most brilliant and memorable thoroughbreds, Street Cry is standing the current season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $137,500 including GST.
