Finishing third on debut behind multiple Stakes winning Nadeem filly Triple Asset, who took the G3 The Jansz at Morphettville only minutes after Altar’s success, the Commands filly sat near the pace, asserting her dominance in the straight to post a convincing victory.
Bred by Darley Australia, Altar is from the prolific Stakes-winning Octagonal mare Hosannah, a previous winner of the Magic Night Stakes. Hosannah went on to finish fourth in the G1 Golden Slipper Stakes a week later.
Stablemate Aerobatics, a daughter of Exceed And Excel, worked home well from the tail of the field to finish third.
With the Inglis Easter yearling sale set to commence on April 5, Commands has 10 yearlings catalogued for the three day sale, while fellow Danehill stallion Exceed And Excel will be represented by 17 lots, which are sure to create plenty of interest amongst buyers.
