Mabroor became first off the mark for his first-season sire Hard Spun with an impressive three-quarter length win in the 1200m maiden at Haydock in the UK.
Bought by Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell Estate Company for US$300,000 as a yearling at Keeneland, the colt was bred by Falcon Wood Partners. He is out of the winning Exploit mare Mayfield and comes from the family of Stakes winners Penny's Reshoot, Smooth Air and Justwhistledixie.
With his first-crop of southern hemisphere yearlings going through this ring this season, they have sold up to $100,000 and were purchased by respected judges Paul Moroney Bloodstock, BBA Ireland, Mark Kavanagh, Blue Sky Thoroughbreds and Phillip Stokes.
A powerful son of Danzig, G1 King's Bishop Stakes winner Hard Spun will cover his fourth Australian book of mares during the forthcoming breeding season at Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 (inc GST).
