It was Street Game, a three-year-old son of Street Cry, who drove home to victory in the G3 Hill Prince Stakes at Belmont Park, June 18. In the colt's Stakes debut Street Game became Graded/Group winner 32 for international sire Street Cry.
Street Game drew plenty of attention when breaking his maiden at the beginning of May over the Belmont Park turf course by over ten lengths. He followed up with a Belmont Allowance win just two weeks later. Snatching a third win in a row, Street Game went wire-to-wire for an impressive victory.
Bred in New York by Nustar Breeding LLC, Street Game is out of the Thunder Puddles mare Thunder Achiever, winner of the G2 First Flight Handicap at Aqueduct. The mare is a half-sister to Stakes winner Anthenian Thunder and Stakes-placed runners Foxy Scarlet and Thunderkin.
Street Cry's record at stud has certainly impressed, as the sire of the thrilling Horse of the Year Zenyatta, who was bred to Darley's own Bernardini this season. Also among his winners at the highest level are Street Boss and G1 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, both of which will stand their next southern hemipshere breeding season at Darley Australia at a fee of $13,750 (inc GST) and $38,500 (inc GST) respectively.
Street Cry will stand the forthcoming breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $110,000 (inc GST), where he already has many star mares booked into him after covering an excellent book of mares last season which included G1 winners Black Mamba, Bramble Rose, Elegant Fashion, Miss Finland, Mnemosyne, Piavonic, Private Steer, Regal Cheer, Rewaaya as well as the dams of G1 winners Niconero, SerenadeRose, Shamekha and Zarita.
