Four-year-old Reset mare Pinker Pinker continued to build on her stellar record as she claimed the G2 Let’s Elope Stakes at Flemington over the 1400m on September 3.
After settling just off the pace in transit, jockey Glen Boss pulled the mare into the clear at the 400m and provided a solid turn of foot to work past all her rivials. Pinker Pinker managed to put a couple of lengths on the field and held on to pass the post with half-a-length to spare over the runner-up Mid Summer Music and Lonhro mare Parables in third. The Reset mare has now won over $500,000 in prizemoney.
Bred by Mr W Giovas and Mr C Gordon, Pinker Pinker is out of the winning Success Express mare Miss Marion, a three-quarter sister to the Stakes performer Sipowicz.
With 14 individual Stakes winners, the unbeaten Zabeel stallion Stakes winner to runner ratio for any stallion with over 100 runners during last season was the best in Victoria and had him placed in second position behind fellow Darley stallion Lonhro on a national basis.
The sire of a Derby winner in his first crop, a Guineas filly in his second crop and an Oaks filly in his third crop, Reset stands at Darley’s Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 (inc GST).
