One of the most anticipated foals of the season, the Street Cry filly is the third foal from the Redoute’s Choice mare. Described as “a big, attractive foal with good bone; and she has a white blaze and one white sock on her near-side hind", she is sure to create international interest if she heads to the sales ring in a few years time.
The darling of her generation, Miss Finland won not only the G1 Golden Slipper, but a further four G1 races during a stellar career, where she captured the VRC Australian Guineas against the colts and the VRC Oaks, VATC 1000 Guineas and Arrowfield Stud Stakes against her own sex.
With his undeniable universal appeal at present, to have the support of breeders such as Arrowfield's John Messara, one of Australia's most significant breeder, the overwhelming the worldwide support for Street Cry could never be more evident.
With his recent success at the September yearling sales at Keeneland where a fantastic-looking colt out of multiple Graded winner Forest Music was knocked down for US$1.2 million to George Bolton while another colt, out of champion Hollywood Wildcat, was purchased by Besilu Stables for US$925,000, the colts represented record yearling prices for their sire.
A winner of the G1 Dubai World Cup, Street Cry is the sire of 52 international Stakes winners highlighted by 12 individual G1 winners including Street Sense, Street Boss, Zenyatta and the Australian-bred duo of Whobegotyou and Shocking. Although Miss Finland’s foal is one of the first foals from a G1 winner born so far this season for Street Cry, it won’t be the last, with G1-winning mares Black Mamba, Bramble Rose, Elegant Fashion, Mnemosyne, Piavonic, Private Steer and Regal Cheer, as well as the dams of G1 winners Niconero, Serenade Rose, Shamekha and Zarita still scheduled to foal.
Street Cry is standing the current season at Darley Kelvinisde for a fee of $110,000 (inc GST).
