Accomplished Girl slipped through an opening along the inside rail and held off a late bid from Cupids Crush to win the $100,000 Pan Zareta Stakes by one-and-a-half lengths at Fair Grounds on Saturday, 30 November.
It was the second career Stakes win for the four-year-old Street Boss filly; she captured the G2 Presque Isle Downs Masters Stakes in 2023.
At the start it was Bosserati that took the lead right out of the starting gate. Moonlit Lady raced in second, with Accomplished Girl well-positioned in fourth, only about a length behind. Saving ground while hugging the inside rail, Accomplished Girl took advantage of an opening down on the inside and shot to the front at the top of the stretch.
Accomplished Girl quickly spurted away and had plenty left in the tank to hold off Cupids Crush for the victory. Hollywood Walk rallied late to take third.
Accomplished Girl was bred in Kentucky by Jack Swain III, and is out of the Twirling Candy mare, Dazzle, a full sister to Exaulted, winner of the G1 Shoemaker Mile.
Street Boss is the sire of nine G1 winners, headed by former champion Australian galloper Anamoe – who won nine races at racing’s highest level. He is also represented by Another Wil, recent winner of the G2 Damien Oliver Stakes at Flemington earlier in November.
Street Boss currently stands at Darley’s Northwood Park property in Victoria for a service fee of $66,000, GST inclusive.
