Precocious filly Too Darn Lizzie (Too Darn Hot) continued the remarkable early Southern Hemisphere success for Too Darn Hot when she scored a brilliant win on Saturday, 13 January in the Magic Millions The Debut for two-year-old fillies on the Gold Coast.
Too Darn Lizzie jumped straight to the lead for jockey Tim Clark and kicked clear in the home straight to beat Froebel Star by 1.5 lengths, with Dominetta a long neck away in third spot.
Co-trained at Randwick by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Too Darn Lizzie ran a fast 57.07 seconds for the 1,000m on a Soft 5 surface.
Too Darn Lizzie was off by Vinery Stud as agent and purchased for $1 million at last yearβs Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by McKeever Bloodstock, Watership Down and Waterhouse and Bott.
Out of the 2018 Blue Diamond Prelude (G2, fillies) winner Enbihaar, the filly is owned by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and good friend Lizzie Spender.
Too Darn Lizzie joined Arabian Summer (2), Too Darn Lovely and Climate Change as the fourth juvenile winner for her sire from just six runners in Australia this season.
A former European champion two-year-old and three-time G1 winner, Too Darn Hot has now sired 30 winners of 40 races β including G1 winner Fallen Angel.
The Darley shuttle stallion has enjoyed remarkable success in the ring at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale this week, with 10 lots sold so far fetching and average of $454,000 and selling up to $1.9 million.Β
