Exceed And Excel filly Eneeza emerged as a prime contender for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast next month when she raced to a dominant victory in the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes over 1,000m at Caulfield on Saturday, 2 December.
Having only her second start after debuting in the G3 Darley Ottawa Stakes at Flemington three weeks earlier with a close second, Eneeza showed she had benefited from the experience with a 2 1/4-length winning margin.
Out of the Australian-bred triple Stakes-race winner Sweet Sherry, Eneeza gave Damian Lane an easy ride and looks a juvenile of high promise for co-trainers Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman.
Bred by and sold by Silverdale Farm, Eneeza was a $1.1 million purchase by Kia Ora Stud and Tony Fung Investments at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Exceed And Excel, the sire of young Darley stallions Microphone and Bivouac (who will be represented by his first yearlings in early 2024) has earned the reputation of the world’s most prolific sire of two-year-olds with Eneeza bringing up his 89th individual juvenile Stakes winner.
Exceed And Excel leads the stallion roster at Darley’s Kelvinside property in the NSW Hunter Valley and stands for a service fee of $132,000 (GST inclusive) and will be represented by 13 yearlings at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
