Sunday's G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes over seven furlongs at the Curragh witnessed a remarkable win by Fallen Angel (2f, Agnes Stewart by Lawman (Invincible Spirit)) - this significant triumph showcased the prowess of the Champion Two- and Three-Year-Old son of Dubawi, Too Darn Hot.
Fallen Angel effortlessly dominated the field, seeing off her only challenger Vespertilio (Night Of Thunder) by a margin of one-and-a-quarter-length.
Breeders in the southern hemisphere will be thrilled to see Invincible Spirit through Fallen Angel's lineage; her dam, Agnes Stewart is a daughter of Lawman. Daughters of I Am Invincible able to replicate this G1-producing cross Down Under.
What's of more significance is from 14 first-crop northern hemisphere winners, Too Darn Hot's record of 14 individual winners includes: G1 winner Fallen Angel, G3 winners Carolina Reaper (2f, Dark Promise by Shamardal) and Darnation (2f, Monday Monday by Galileo).
Further emphasising the significance of this G1 win, Too Darn Hot achieved his first G1 victory earlier than Dubawi and his notable progenies such as Night Of Thunder, New Bay and Zarak.
Dubawi's first G1 winner was his first-crop son Makfi who saluted in the G1 2000 Guineas in May 2010 of his three-year-old year.
Sire son Night Of Thunder's first G1 winner came via his son Kukeracha in the G1 Queensland Derby, again in his three-year-old year; New Bay's G1 tally kicked off when Saffron Beach saluted in the G1 Newmarket Sun Chariot Sakes at three, and Zarak's first G1 winner came via his son Zagrey in the G1 Baden-Baden Grosser Preis von Baden in Germany as a four-year-old.
Dubawi has gone on to become one of the best sires in thoroughbred history, having clearly demonstrated just how well his stock are suited to Australian racing.
His multiple Champion son Too Darn Hot is one of the best-credentialled stallion prospects ever to visit our shores. Apart from his proven sire line Too Darn Hot offers breeders elite performance in his immediate ancestry to a degree rarely matched. Both his parents and all four of his grandparents were G1 winners.
Leading sires whose parents were both G1 winners include Dubawi himself, Street Cry, Galileo, Deep Impact and Kingman. To complete the package his G1-winning second dam is a half-sister to the great sire and broodmare sire Darshaan.
It is worth noting that Too Darn Hot is entirely Danehill-free.
