Star two-year-old Anamoe returned at three with a convincing first-up victory on Saturday, 11 September in the G2 Run To The Rose at Rosehill (Kembla Grange) beating a field that included last season's G1 Golden Slipper winner, Stay Inside, and the G1 Champagne Stakes winner Captivant.
The son of Street Boss concluded his juvenile season as the dominant winner of the G1 Sires' Produce Stakes and G2 Todman Stakes, following two placed performances in the G1 Blue Diamond (third) and G1 Golden Slipper Stakes (second).
On Saturday, under the guidance of James McDonald, Anamoe came from barrier four to jump midfield. James sat the colt midpack with cover and gave him a patient ride where on the turn he asked Anamoe for some effort. The colt duly responded and the pair cruised to the line crossing it under a hold.
"He was the real deal as a two-year-old. I think it's remarkable how he's come back after one trial and a setback," said Champion jockey James McDonald following the win.
Anamoe's the fourth foal from the Redoute's Choice mare Anamato who is due to foal to Royal Ascot spring king Blue Point.
The rise of Street Boss in recent seasons is nothing short of excellent and it's well-acknowledged that like many of the top sires in Australia, the best son of Street Cry has had to do it the hard way.
Street Boss's yearlings sold for up to $350,000 in 2021, at the prestigious Hong Kong International Sale his son sold for HK$3.8 million (AU$$644,603) at Sha Tin and he was one of only four Australian stallions to have sired multiple G1 winners in 2020/21.
Street Boss stands this season at Kelvinside, NSW at a fee of $55,000 (inc GST), fully booked.
