Top Executive made a three-wide move on the far turn on his way to rolling to a three-quarter length victory in the six-furlong Auburn Stakes at Emerald Downs June 20.
It was the second Stakes win for the three-year-old Street Boss gelding; he captured the King County Express Stakes over the same oval as a juvenile in 2020.
Top Executive broke alertly and was reserved just off the leaders in fourth through the early stages of the race. Making a three-wide bid on the far turn, Top Executive challenged the leaders at the quarter pole before taking a clear lead at the top of the stretch. He then held off the late challenge of Big Duke to win by three-quarters of a length.
Top Executive was bred in Kentucky by Frankfort Park Farm and Dr. R. Mason. He is out of Severn Shore, a Stakes-placed daughter of Pure Prize, and hails from the family of Stakes winners Sea Rescue, Waves and Tides, Dahlgren Hall and Navy Ribbon.
In addition to Top Executive, Street Boss is the sire of 2021 Australian Stakes winners Anamoe (G1 Sires’ Produce Stakes), Arcaded (G2 Blue Diamond Fillies Prevue, etc.) and Street Life (Listed Adelaide Hills Railway Stakes). In North America he is represented by New Boss (Allen ‘Black Cat’ Lecombe Memorial), Who Took the Money (Crescent City Derby), Lady Edith (Mamzelle Stakes) and Bienville Street (Sunshine Filly & Mare Turf Stakes).
Street Boss will stand the upcoming southern hemisphere season at Kelvinside, NSW, at a fee of $55,000, including GST.
