Street Boss joined the party on day two of the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale with his colt from the Danehill Dancer mare Spirit Of Carbine prompting an international bidding duel that was settled in favour of Hong Kong owners Eden Wong and Anita Chu.
Bidding online, their final call of $350,000 secured the colt who is closely related to the G2 ATC The Shorts winner Pampelonne and the Stakes-winning juvenile Marveen.
A member of the Rosemont Stud draft, he was one of two Street Boss yearlings to attract strong attention on day two.
Lot 361: Street Boss x Spirit of Carbine (colt)
The other, Lot 417, a filly from Unfurl, went to Melbourne co-trainer Ciaron Maher who added her to a collection that has made him the sale’s leading buyer.
Maher paid $190,000 for the filly consigned by Blue Gum Farm whose dam is a half-sister to the New Zealand Stakes winners Inferno and Ortem Fire.
His day two purchases came after he went to $210,000 on day one for a Street Boss colt from Misty Rock, having also signed for a Frosted filly for $420,00 and a Lonhro colt for $250,000 at Sunday’s opening session.

“Street Boss is a stallion who produces good winners here year-after-year and lately he’s been producing some very good ones,” Maher said.
“Good, up-and-running young horses like Anamoe and Hanseatic from his last two crops have both won good races and Elite Street who won a G1 this season,” Maher said.
“The two we’ve bought here are both nice strong chestnuts like their sire and look like good two-year-old types.”
Among Maher’s other purchases over the first two sessions has been an Impending colt who made $110,000.
As they did on day one, Darley’s elder statesmen Exceed And Excel and Lonhro featured strongly at the second session.
Lot 358: Colt by Exceed and Excel x Special Lover sold for $300,000
One of Victoria’s more active buyers Manny Gelagotis went to $300,000 for Lot 358, a filly by Exceed And Excel from the Stakes-placed Pins mare Special Lover who is a member of the famous Eight Carat family that has produced such outstanding runners as Octagonal, Kaapstad, Don Eduardo, Tristalove and Viscount.
“She’s a lovely filly in her own right and from a family like that she’s worth every cent,” Gelagotis said.
Lonhro’s best for the second session was Lot 333, a filly from Singled Out offered by Balius Farm and knocked down to Victorian trainer Liam Howley for $240,000.
