An explosive finishing burst powered Roheryn to a narrow but decisive victory in Saturday’s Listed Falvelon Handicap at Eagle Farm in Brisbane that kept his faultless first-up record intact.
The son of Lonhro became his sire’s 89th Stakes winner when he scored a G3 success at Randwick last spring and the stallion, who turned 22 last month, has since had his 90th Stakes success.
The Eagle Farm success maintained Roheryn’s perfect first-up record, the gelding now having commenced each of his five preparations with a win.
Roheryn is out of the Stakes winner Mannington and is one of seven winners, three of them at Stakes level, from her nine to race.
Mannington is out of the G1 Golden Slipper winner Bint Marscay who has also produced the G1 winner Bollinger and the G3 winner Sheraton.
Lonhro stood his most recent season at Kelvinside, NSW.
