The consistency Shooting To Win has shown this season deserves recognition having produced this season G1-placed colt Dom To Shoot, G3 winner Mascarpone, he has unbeaten Mystery Shot targeting The All-Star Mile in March and his daughter Ms Catherine on a G1 Oakleigh Plate campaign.
Another daughter whose win brought her sire's achievements to the fore was Picarones, who on debut at Caulfield on Saturday, 26 December, raced away to win by one length in Godolphin's colours under the guidance of Damien Oliver.
Jumping with the nine-horse field from barrier five, Damien Oliver and Picarones took up a midfield position for the 1,200m journey. On the turn, the pair made their move shifting three-wide to round up the field and at the 200m mark the dynamic duo found their rhythm and took off to lead from the 50m mark and win impressively.
A 21 October foal, Picarones is out of the two-year-old G3 ATC Kindergarten Stakes-winning mare, Anise (General Nediym).
