The steady flow of Stakes winners for Epaulette continued with the courageous win of Paradee in the G3 Alexandra Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday, 20 March.
Despite enduring a wide run throughout, Paradee burst into the lead with 150m to run and then defied all challengers to score a convincing win.
The filly, bred by the Vieira Group, sold as a yearling for $240,000 at the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast sale and has rewarded the investment with three wins from her six starts, and now with black type adding further value.
Paradee is a daughter of the unraced Medaglia d’Oro mare Icy Heels and is her first to go to the races.
Paradee won her maiden at Bendigo in February and graduated to city class two runs later with a strong win at Flemington, before making the successful step up to Stakes class at the Valley.
Epaulette, who stood his most recent season at Kelvinside, NSW, has now sired 13 Stakes winners, the list headed by the multiple Australian-bred, South African G1 winner Soqrat.
