The well-established reliability of Exceed And Excel received yet another endorsement with the stunning victory of Signore Fox in Saturday’s Listed Razor Sharp Handicap at Randwick.
Already a winner of six races including another at Listed level, Signore Fox staged a stunning performance, coming from a seemingly hopeless position at the 400m to prevail in a driving finish to beat Oriental Runner and Glenall in a tight finish.
Signore Fox, one of Exceed And Excel’s 164 Stakes winners, sold for $300,000 as a yearling at the 2017 Inglis Easter sale.
The colt is out of the Touch Gold mare Sharp Susan, making him a half-brother to the South African G1 winner Oh Susanna (Street Cry).
Exceed And Excel has just concluded his southern-hemisphere season at Darley’s Kelvinside Stud and is due to begin another northern season at Kildangan Stud in Ireland at a fee of €40,000.
