The handy filly Anjana has kept the winners ticking over for her sire Sepoy with a convincing win in Saturday’s Listed Incognitus Stakes at Flemington.
Ridden confidently and well by Damien Oliver, Anjana came from near last, taking a run along the far rail to collar the leaders at the 300m and draw away from that point to win by 1-14 lengths.
Anjana, who has now won four races, had shown plenty of promise in Stakes company last spring with her best effort at that level a fourth placing in the G1 Thousand Guineas behind Amphitrite.
She out of the unraced More Than Ready mare Further, whose four foals to race have all won.
Anjana is Sepoy’s 12th Stakes winner.
