Mr Stunning’s second consecutive victory in the G1 Hong Kong Sprint in mid-December provided his sire Exceed And Excel with the perfect run up to the new Australian yearling sales season
Exceed And Excel is a stallion who can not only produce the goods on big-race days, but one who also averages just over a winner a day with his offspring.
At the end of 2018, Exceed And Excel had recorded 271 individual winners worldwide for more than 440 races, figures that cannot be bettered by any of the top 10 sires in Australia.
Exceed And Excel has 19 yearlings catalogued at the Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale, the first and largest major yearling sale of the year.
Among them are horses consigned by some of Australia’s oldest and most renowned stud farms.
One who has already attracted strong interest is Lot 98, a filly from the Baramul Stud draft who is out of Savannah River, a half-sister to New Zealand Champion sire Savabeel, from the family of multiple G1 winner Black Heart Bart.
Another Baramul entry is Lot 218, a colt from The Hamptons, a half-sister to G1 winner Mrs Onassis and fellow Stakes winners Fifth Avenue Lady and Aussies Love Sport.
