Exceed And Excel added a new juvenile Stakes winner to his already outstanding record on Wednesday, 15 August when his daughter Queen Of Bermuda put up a tenacious performance to land the five-furlong Listed Prix de la Vallee d’Auge at Deauville.
Settled towards the rear of the field under William Buick, the William Haggas-trained filly came with a determined run once the field quickened for home, outbattling Barbill to win by a head.
Queen Of Bermuda is out of the winning Haafhd mare Imperialistic Diva and made 230,000 guineas as a yearling.
She becomes the 12th Stakes winner so far this year for Exceed And Excel, also sire of 2018 G3 winner James Garfield, who came agonisingly close in the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest last weekend.
