Dawn Approach’s first crop have just turned three and he looks to have a potential star through his unbeaten daughter Musis Amica. A winner on her only start at two at Saint-Cloud, she made a winning seasonal debut at Longchamp when landing the G3 Prix de la Grotte by over a length, despite showing signs of greenness.
She holds a trio of G1 entries in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, the Prix de Diane and the Prix Saint-Alary.
A Godolphin homebred, she is a half-sister to the G2 winner Harland (Halling) and out of the Group-placed Darshaan mare White Star. Musis Amica is the penultimate foal produced by White Star before her retirement with her last a juvenile colt by Raven’s Pass in training with Mark Johnston.
Musis Amica is the fifth Stakes horse to come from Dawn Approach’s first crop that includes the Group performers Mary Tudor, Fast Approach and Dawn Delivers. In a good couple of days for the 2,000 Guineas hero, his second crop has made a quick start through Friday’s debutant Naas winner Dadoozdart. He will be standing this coming season at Kelvinside, NSW at a fee of $19,250 Inc GST.
