Darley’s Victorian stallions strengthen the State’s major yearling sale
Brazen Beau heads Premier Sale line up after record-breaking Sydney result
An outstanding selection of Brazen Beau yearlings, a half-brother by Kuroshio to three-time G1 winner Le Romain, Classic aspirants by Reset and a Street Boss colt closely related to the brilliant filly Petits Filou go under the hammer at the Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne which commences Sunday, March 4.
At a sale that claims to “turn passion into success”, Darley’s Victorian-based stallions fit the bill admirably.
Fresh from topping the Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney, Brazen Beau will be represented by 20 yearlings in Melbourne, including siblings to recent Melbourne winner Vinland, New Zealand Horse of the Year Mongolian Khan, and Queensland Guineas winner Jabali.
The Champion sprinter also has a colt being offered as Lot 322 (pictured below) from Crystal Ruby, herself a sister to G1 Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily, and a colt from the Danehill mare Lucida who taps into the famed Eight Carat family.

Stallions standing at Darley’s Victorian operation at Northwood Park have 74 yearlings catalogued in the Premier Sale, 17 of them by the ever-reliable Street Boss whose recent Australian-bred Stakes successes include G1 Newmarket Handicap winner The Quarterback, plus Hong Kong Derby and Chairman’s Mile winner Rapper Dragon.
The first of his yearlings to be offered is his colt, catalogued as Lot 42, out of the Zabeel mare Rodelinda, a half-sister to the dam of the speedy Stakes-winning filly Petits Filou, also a daughter of Street Boss.
Kuroshio has three yearlings in Book 1 of the sale, all set to attract strong interest.
Prominent among them is Lot 509, a half-brother to Le Romain, winner of the Canterbury Stakes, the Cantala Stakes and the Randwick Guineas, all at G1 level.
From the Strategic mare Mignard, the colt is from a family that includes Godolphin’s G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Long John.
Reset has the distinction of providing three lots in the sale’s “Blue Riband” session that aims to identify superior staying and Classic types.
First of his trio to enter the sale ring will be Lot 129, a colt from the Galileo mare Sister Earth whose only foal to race so far is a winner.
The colt is related to European Stakes winners Time Away, Zinaad and First Charter, plus Japanese Stakes winner Incantation.
Lot 140 (pictured below), by Reset from the Danehill mare Chevaeresse, is a half-brother to South African Stakes winner Chevauchee, from the family of G1 Irish Oaks winner Knight’s Baroness.
