The talented filly Don’tbabylon has added another Stakes success to the record of her sire Reset with a bold, front-running display to win the Listed Nudgee Stakes at Doomben on December 30.
After jumping from an outside gate in the 15-runner field, Don’tbabylon set a solid pace that had her rivals chasing hard throughout the 1,200m race.
Despite her early efforts, the filly who was having her third start for new trainer Matthew Dale, held the opposition comfortably to score by a length.
Don’tbabylon becomes the 33rd Stakes winner for Reset whose offspring have won some of Australia’s best races, including the G1 Cox Plate (Pinker Pinker) and G1 Caulfield Cup (Fawkner) and G1 VRC Oaks heroine Set Square.
The filly’s dam Lectures also represents a strong Darley family that includes the G2 winner and first-season sire Sidestep (Exceed And Excel) and his half-brother, the G1 winner and successful stallion Skilled (Commands).
Reset, who was unbeaten in his only five starts, including two at G1, stands at Northwood Park in Victoria at a fee of A$16,500 with GST payable on live foal.
