Exceed And Excel’s seasoned campaigner Heavy Metal added a third Stakes win and 12th career victory to his record on Thursday, 21 December, running out the easy winner of the Listed Dubai Creek Mile at Meydan.
Soon in front under Royston Ffrench, Heavy Metal eased clear with two and a half furlongs left to run and cruised home to win by four and a half lengths.
Heavy Metal was a very useful juvenile, winning the G2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood. Earlier this year, he landed the G3 Burj Nahar on Meydan’s Super Saturday.
Heavy Metal is out of South African-bred G1 winner Rock Opera, a full sister to another Group winner in Hit Song. He is one of 21 Black Type winners this year for Exceed And Excel, who is also Europe’s leading two-year-old sprint stallion.
