Iffraaj notched another Stakes winner on Sunday, 15 October when his four-year-old daughter Renfrew Street landed the Listed Kolner Steher Cup in Germany. Always prominent under Joe Fanning, the Mark Johnston-trained filly made her move heading into the straight, soon taking a decisive advantage before gamely holding off all challengers in the 3000m contest.
Bred by Mrs D Curren, Renfrew Street is the first foal of the Stakes-placed mare Malpas Missile, who was second in the Hilary Needler Trophy as a juvenile. Malpas Missile also has a colt foal by star Australian sprinter Brazen Beau.
Iffraaj has now sired 16 Stakes winners this season including brilliant miler Ribchester, winner of three G1’s in the Queen Anne Stakes, Prix du Moulin and Lockinge Stakes. He is due to next line up in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes next Saturday.
Iffraaj is standing this season at Haunui Stud at a fee of NZ$25,000 plus GST.
