Helmet’s juvenile son Met Spectrum retained his unbeaten record in tremendous fashion on Saturday, 23 September when winning the Listed Premio Vittorio Riva in Milan.
Taking the seven-and-a-half-furlong contest by a head, Met Spectrum was recording his second consecutive Black Type victory and third career win, having won on his debut in June before landing the Listed Premio Giuseppe de Montel later the same month.
Met Spectrum was bred by Scuderia Blue Berry SRL and is one of four winners and three Black Type performers out of the Stakes-winning mare Mara Spectrum, herself a half-sister to Italian 1,000 Guineas winner Dancer Destination.
Helmet has sired seven Black Type winners to date and a further seven horses who have made the frame at Stakes level. They are headed by multiple G1 winner Thunder Snow.
Helmet stands at Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 inc GST.
