First-season sire Dawn Approach had an impressive new winner on Sunday 6 August when Fast Approach broke his maiden by five lengths at Sapporo in Japan. Making his second career start after a promising debut fourth at Tokyo, he swept clear rounding the home bend in the 1500m contest to win with ease.
Bred by Yasushi Kubota, Fast Approach is a son of the Group-placed Marju mare Jolie Jioconde, who is a full-sister to star Japanese performer Satono Crown.
Dawn Approach’s first crop already includes two Stakes performers; Curragh winner Dawn Delivers was third in the G3 Silver Flash Stakes while wide-margin maiden scorer Haddaf had been placed twice at Listed level. He is standing this season at a fee of $22,000.
