Unforgetable Filly has shown plenty of promise so far this year and the three-year-old daughter of Sepoy gained a well-deserved first Black type win on 3 June, taking the seven-furlong Listed Maggie Dickson Stakes at Musselburgh.
Hugo Palmer’s charge was settled in mid division under Josephine Gordon, before being switched wide as she approached the two-furlong marker. Unforgetable Filly then quickened impressively to take the lead a furlong out and kept to her task superbly to win by a length and three quarters.
Unforgetable Filly broke her maiden by no fewer than seven lengths last September, before finishing third in the G3 Oh So Sharp Stakes on her final start as a juvenile. She reappeared with a second in the G3 Nell Gwyn Stakes, earning herself a run in the 1,000 Guineas where she finished a creditable sixth.
Unforgetable Filly is out of the winning Oasis Dream mare Beautiful Filly and is from the family of G1 winner Fire The Groom – herself dam of Champion sprinter Stravinsky.
Sepoy has now sired five individual Black type winners, including G3 winner and G1 performer Dabyah and fellow Group winner Kilmah. He will stand the coming breeding season at Kelvinside at a fee of $16,500 inc. GST.
