Three-year-old Domesday filly Italy became her sire’s second Stakes winner of the weekend with a determined victory in the Listed Canberra Guineas over 1400m on 6 March.
Following her paternal half-brother Heart Starter’s Listed Lex Piper Stakes win at Ascot 24 hours earlier, Italy swept down the outside to claim the Canberra Guineas narrowly and become the 11th career Stakes winner for Domesday.
Italy, who was G2-placed as a juvenile, was bred by Darley and is the first Stakes winner out of city-winning Flying Spur mare Retail Therapy.
Domesday stands at Northwood Park and boasts G1 winners Pressday and Doctor Doom among his 11 Stakes winners.
