Lonhro colt Cohesion appears to be another talented horse for his sire after leading all the way to take the colts and geldings division of the Listed Blue Diamond Preview run over 1000m at Caulfield on 26 January.
Jockey Ben Melham chose to cross the field from barrier 10 and take up the running on the John O’Shea-trained colt and he never looked like being beaten at any stage at just his second race start. The Godolphin runner could now be aimed at the G1 Blue Diamond at the same track on February 27.
Cohesion is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Come Hither, a Stakes-winning daughter of Hanky Panky, herself a half-sister sire to Not A Single Doubt. Come Hither has a yearling colt full-brother to Cohesion and is in foal to Medaglia d’Oro this season.
Lonhro has sired seven G1 winners, including Cohesion's star three-year-old stablemate Exosphere.
