Exceed And Excel’s G1-winning son Flamberge gave his sire a Stakes double on the day with victory in the Listed Durbridge Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville, October 17.
Sent out a short-priced favourite, Flamberge was forced to work hard for his victory, prevailing by a half-length over Swinging Arms. He joined G3 Moonga Stakes winner Vashka as a Black type winner on the day for his sire.
A hombred for David and Jenny Moodie, Flamberge is out of G3 winner Razor Blade and is a full-brother to G1 performer Curtana and half-brother to Sunburnt Land who was also a Stakes winner and G1 placegetter.
Exceed And Excel is Australia’s leading stallion by Stakes winners this season with seven individual winners at Black type level including G2 winners Pearls and Kinglike.
Exceed And Excel is standing at Kelvinside at a fee of $110,000 inc. GST alongside his G2-winning son Sidestep who stands at a fee of $11,000 inc. GST, while Helmet ($33,000 inc. GST) and Kuroshio ($8,800 inc. GST) stand at Northwood Park.
