Cotai Glory adds another Stakes win to his record
Three-year-old Exceed And Excel colt Cotai Glory, who won the G3 Molecomb Stakes last year, added a second Black type win to his record in fine style on 9 September, leading all the way to take the Listed Scarbrough Stakes for Charlie Hills on the opening day of Doncaster’s St Leger meeting.
Smartly away under George Baker, Cotai Glory was always travelling well and once asked to quicken soon moved clear and was eased down when crossing the line a length ahead of Kingsgate Native.
Bred by Glebe Stud, J F Dean and Lady Trenchard, Cotai Glory is out of the unraced Elusive Quality mare Continua, dam of another Stakes performer by Exceed And Excel in Excel’s Beauty.
Exceed And Excel has now sired 18 individual Black type winners this yea, plus a further 25 horses who have been placed at this level. They are headed by Australian G1 winner Flamberge, and G2 Coventry Stakes winner and G1 Phoenix Stakes third Buratino – who is due to reappear on more favourable ground In the G1 National Stakes at the Curragh this Sunday.
