Brian Crowley To Kuro
A last start winner of the Listed Heritage Stakes at Randwick, three-year-old Denman colt Kuro remained unbeaten this time in when stepping up to the 1200m of the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes, defeating a class field by two lengths with ease.
Recording back-to-back wins for the progeny of the Darley stallions in the race after the victory of Dubawi gelding Boss Lane 12 months prior, Kuro settled behind the leaders, allowing the front runners to ensure a solid tempo. When it was time to make his move, jockey Blake Shinn pulled his colt off the heels of those in front and under hands and heels ridding joined the leaders and extended to record his fifth win from seven career starts.
Foaled in New Zealand, Kuro was bred by Nearco Stud Limited and is out of the Stakes-placed Orientate mare Distinctive Lass, from the family of multiple G1 winners Bomber Bill and Special.
The sire of six stakes performers from his current crop of three-year-olds, Denman stands at a fee of $33,000 (inc. GST) at Kelvinside alongside his sire Lonhro who stands at a fee of $88,00 (inc. GST).
