Winx continues on winning ways
Three-year-old Street Cry filly Winx remained unbeaten with a brilliant win in the G2 Furious Stakes over 1200m at Randwick, September 6.
A winner of her first two starts back in June, Winx was resuming from a short break and easily defeated a quality field including G1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Earthquake (Exceed And Excel) who finished third.
Bred by Fairway Thoroughbreds, Winx is the first foal to race out of Al Akbar mare Vegas Showgirl, a multiple Stakes winner in New Zealand.
Street Cry is the sire of 78 Stakes winners including 15 G1 winners, among them Darley stallions Street Boss and Street Sense as well Zenyatta, Whobegotyou, Long John and Shocking.
Street Cry stands alongside his G1-placed son Carlton House ($16,500 inc. GST) at Kelvinside, while Street Boss stands at Northwood Park at a fee of $11,000 inc. GST.
