Street Story lands Instant Racing Stakes
Street Cry added another Stakes winner to his record April 12 as three-year-old Street Story won the Instant Racing Stakes at Oaklawn.
In the 1200m race the filly was towards the back of the field, seven-lengths off the lead. Into the stretch she traveled four-wide and finished strong to take the victory.
Bred by John C. Oxley, Street Story is out of the Tale Of The Cat mare Perfect Story, who has also produced Graded Stakes-placed Medjool. Perfect Story is out of Stakes winner Turko's Turn, and is a half-sister to Horse Of The Year and Classic winner Point Given.
Street Cry is the sire of 15 G1 winners including fellow Darley stallion Street Boss, Melbourne Cup winner Shocking and Caulfield Guineas winners Whobegotyou and Long John.
The leading sire by average at this week's Inglis Easter yearling sale, Street Cry's yearlings were in huge demand selling up to $1.5 million.
