Sunline Stakes success to Text’n Hurley
A last start second at G3 level, four-year-old Hard Spun mare Text’n Hurley stepped up in class to contest the G2 Sunline Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley under lights on March 21.
Settling at the rear of the field from the outside barrier, jockey Craig Williams never panicked, bringing the Colin Little-trained mare down the outside of the field in impressive fashion, gathering in Bippo No Bungus (Dubawi) to score by two-and-a-half lengths, giving the Darley stallions a one-two finish in the race.
Bred by Brickmakers Bloodstock and Mr Paul Fox, Text’n Hurley is out of the Quest For Fame mare Angels, a half-sister to the Listed Ballarat Cup winner Aquiver, both out of the G2-winning, multiple G1 placed Excited Angel.
The sire of 27 Stakes winners globally highlighted by his G1-winning daughters Questing and Zo Impressive, Text’n Hurely became the fifth individual Stakes winner in Australia for Hard Spun.
