G2 success for Reset filly
Travelling from Victoria to contest the G2 Karrakatta Plate over 1200m at Ascot, Western Australia, the two-year-old Reset filly Ms Funovits sat outside the leader before asserting her authority, taking the race by just under a length.
Trained by John Sadler at Flemington, the filly started her career with a narrow win in January before being put away for a short break with this race in mind.
Bred by North Road Bloodstock, Ms Funovits is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Illusional, a half-sister to the G2 winner Sonic Quest, both out of the G2 winner Lodore Magic. Already the dam of the impressive G2 Bill Stutt Stakes winner Chase The Rainbow, Illusional was covered by Reset in the latest breeding season.
As the sire of 22 Stakes winners highlighted by G1 winners Rebel Raider and Pinker Pinker, Reset will be represented by a lone offering at next week’s Inglis Easter yearling sale. Consigned in the draft of Southern Cross Breeders, lot 149 is out of a Danehill Dancer half-sister to Reset’s G1 WS Cox Plate winner Pinker Pinker.
