Lonhro filly tops session one
The Perth Magic Millions yearling sale commenced on 19 February with lot 114, a Lonhro filly from the draft of Dawson Stud leading the way after session one.
Out of the three-time Listed-winning Bletchley Park mare Most Secret, a full-sister to Listed winner Ebony Magic, the mare has already produced four Stakes horses, highlighted by the G1 Railway Stakes winner Covertly, G3 winner So Secret and Listed winner Secret Link.
Purchased by John Chalmers Bloodstock for $260,000, she was the only yearling to make more than $200,000 during the first day.
Set to join the stable of Wally Mitchell, Chalmers stated after the sale that, "She's the stand out filly of the sale.
"She is the most correct Lonhro I've seen and she is a really lovely individual.
"Considering the prices for quality fillies at other sales around Australasia I think she is great value as well," Chalmers added.
The sire of 36 Stakes winners internationally including five G1 winners; the now Dubai-based Mental, Champion two-year-old Pierro, Beaded, as well as Darley stallions Benfica and Denman, Lonhro will be represented by eight yearlings at the Inglis Premier yearling sale and a further 24 at the Inglis Easter yearling sale, while Denman will be represented by 12 and 10 respectively from his first crop of yearlings to sell.
