Vatuvei storms home

Son of Reset wins Moonee Valley Gold Cup

Classic winner Vatuvei stormed to victory in the G2 Moonee Valley Gold Cup to become the ninth Group winner for his sire, the unbeaten Reset.

Waited with behind a slow early pace, Vatuvei showed a stunning turn of foot to come through between horses into the straight and go clear to win comfortably.

Winner of the 2011 VRC St Leger, Vatuvei is one of 19 Stakes winners for Reset, the sire of three stakes winners in October so far following the wins by Fawkner and Star Of Giselle.

Bred by Caradale Pty Ltd, Cobra Bloodstock Australia Pty Ltd and Austramore Pty Ltd, Vatuvei is a half-brother to G1 Australian Oaks winner Rena's Lady and G3 Adrian Knox Stakes winner Raise.

Reset stands at Darley Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500.
