Two million reasons to support Commands
Recording his fifth individual Stakes winner of the season with the victory of Proverb in the Ming Dynasty Quality on 29 September at Rosehill, the progeny of Commands topped the $2 million mark over the weekend and he now sits firmly in the top position on the Australian General Sires’ Table, over $500,000 clear of his nearest rival, paternal half-brother Redoute’s Choice.
Not only has Commands sired Proverb, but the G1 Golden Rose winner Epaulette, who backed up his win at the elite level with victory in the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude on 30 September, as well at the G1 Metropolitan favourite Lamasery, G2 Sebring Sprint winner Ambidexter and three-year-old colt Jimando, winner of the Henry Bucks Stakes and third in the G2 Bill Stutt Stakes recently behind Lonhro colt Pierro.
A consistent sire of winners, having produced more winners in the last three season than any other stallion in Australia, Commands is the sire of 49 Stakes winners including seven G1 winners and is standing the current breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $55,000 (inc. GST), while his G1-winning son Skilled is standing at Darley's Victorian property Northwood Park at a fee of $8,800 (inc. GST).
