Poet's Voice followed up on his promising debut effort to stroll home the ten-length winner of a seven-furlong (1400m) novice stakes at Newmarket on Friday.
Sent off at odds-on favourite after a highly promising third place in a decent maiden at the July Meeting, the first-crop son of Dubawi made light work of his opposition on his second start, moving rapidly through the gears when asked to quicken by Frankie Dettori and quickly opened up an unassailable lead to become his sire's eleventh individual winner. Chasing him home for second was previous winner Pallantes Cross, by Cape Cross.
Poet's Voice is a Darley homebred out of the Chief's Crown mare Bright Tiara, the dam of Japanese Group One runner-up Gold Tiara, by Dubawi's grandsire Seeking The Gold.
Among Dubawi's other winners this season are Poet's Voice's G3-placed stablemate Sand Vixen and the 90-rated duo Curtains andDubai Phantom.
The previous race at Newmarket was won by Taajub, a son of Exceed And Excel who was also improving after a debut second place at Ascot. having landed the six-furlong maiden by two-and-a-quarter lengths, the Sheikh Hamdan-owned colt is now being aimed at the G2 Gimcrack Stakes at York.
Exceed And Excel is leading sire of two-year-olds in Britain and Ireland both numerically, with 19 individual winners, and by prize-money earned.
