Theyskens' Theory, by Bernardini, went back to her winning ways as she landed the Listed Atalanta Stakes on Saturday, August 20. The three-year-old filly has now raced eight times, winning half of them including the G3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood. Trained by Brian Meehan, the winner settled nicely in the run and charge home 200m out to hold on for a length win, in the process recoring her third Black type victory. Theysken's Thoery defeated four-year-old Shamardal mare Modeyra and the three-year-old Street Cry filly Brevity.
Bred by AR Enterprises and owned by Andrew Rosen, the filly is out of the Summer Squall mare Heat Lightning and is a half-sister to the 2005 US Champion Juvenile, Stevie Wonderboy.
Bernardini is also the sire of recent G2 winner Stay Thirsty who will possibly try to emulate his sire by winning the G1 Travers Stakes in the coming week. Standing the forthcoming southern hemisphere breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $38,500 (inc GST), Bernardini is also the sire of G1-winning juveniles A Z Warrior and Biondetti.
