Street Cry sires 67th Stakes winner in France
Keegsquaw’s race record reflects four previous Stakes placings in France in 2012 and 2013 but she finally earned her Stakes diploma with a gutsy effort in the Prix Dahlia on October 10.
In today’s 2000m event, the daughter of Street Cry found herself in her normal position towards the back of the pack. Once the field entered the home stretch, she put in a strong run to get up by a head at the wire.
Keegsquaw, bred in Kentucky by Gaines-Gentry Thoroughbreds, LLC, is out of Listed winner/G2-placed Kentucky Rose, also the granddam of multiple Listed winner Wedge Trust.
Street Cry is represented by 30 other Stakes performers in 2013 in addition to Keegsquaw, 18 of which have won or placed at the Graded or Group level. His 13 career G1 winners include Horse of the Year Zenyatta as well as other Darley sires Street Sense and Street Boss.
Street Cry is standing the current breeding season at Kelvinside at a fee of $110,000 inc. GST, while Street Boss is standing at Northwood Park at a fee of $11,000 inc. GST.
