Darley stallion Street Cry sired the quinella at Ascot on Saturday when his daughters Delta Gee and Admiring filled the top spots in the Listed Natasha Stakes.
Stepping up into Stakes company for the first time, Delta Gee ran out a ready one-and-a-quarter length winner from her paternal half-sister, with a further two-and-a-quarter lengths back to the third. This was her second win from six starts and represented improvement stepping up to the 2200m trip. Bred by Rangeview Stud, she is a half-sister to Stakes winner Wave Rock who won the same race in 2006.
Runner-up Admiring was also tackling the trip for the first time. Bred by Messrs Sarich and Stilling, she is out the Stakes-winning mare Ballet Girl and is a half-sister to the Listed-winning filly Empire Dancer.
At Rosehill, Street Cry colts Whobegotyou and Predatory Pricer finished a close second and third in the G2 Phar Lap Stakes behind Heart Of Dreams. Whobegotyou, winner of the Caulfield Guineas earlier in the season, was bred by Lockyer Thoroughbreds and is out of the Stakes-placed Carnegie mare Temple Of Peace. Predatory Pricer, who is a half-brother to globetrotting superstar Takeover Target, was bred by Meringo Stud Farm. His dam Shady Stream has yearling from the first crop of Dubawi catalogued for the forthcoming Easter sale.
The following race saw the Commands colt Black Prince finished runner-up in the G3 Star Kingdowm Stakes. Stepping up into Group company for the first time, Black Prince had won his last six races (and seven of his last eight). Bred by the Markham Stud Syndicate and Mr D and A Leahy, he is out of the winning mare Munum Miss and is a half-brother to the Group placed Koochie.
Lonhro juvenile Purdey took third in the G2 Todman Stakes on his third start after finishing fourth on debut and second in the G3 Kindergarten Stakes . The Woodlands Stud-bred is out of the Listed-winning mare Walnut, who also has a full-brother yearling to Purdey and a foal by fellow Darley Australia stallion Ad Valorem.
Over at Morphettville, Exceed And Excel's son Baby Corn was beaten only a short-neck in the G3 The Jansz Stakes. A Listed winner at the same track on his last start, he was bred by Sperling Enterprises Pty Ltd and is out of the G3-winning Scenic mare Sweet Corn.
