Street Boss colt Hanseatic staged another astonishing performance to maintain his perfect record with victory in Saturday’s G3 Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield.
In a repeat of his wins at his first two starts, Hanseatic overcame difficulties before winning by a neck over Rulership.
After taking up a prominent position from the gates, Hanseatic had to be taken back to near last to gain clear running, and when he did, he propelled himself to the line, gaining the upper hand two strides from the post.
Hanseatic had won on debut in Listed company at Sandown in November and returned to score a dominant win at Caufield two weeks ago after being four wide throughout.
The colt will now attempt to emulate the feats of his stablemate Lyre (Lonhro) by winning the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield on 22 February.
Street Boss has produced six G1 winners ranging from the G1 Kentucky Oaks heroine Cathryn Sophia, to the Australian sprinter The Quarterback, with Hanseatic one of his 39 overall Stakes winners.
Hanseatic is from the winning Exceed And Excel mare Itameri whose granddam Scandinavia produced Helsinge, the dam of the unbeaten champion sprinter Black Caviar.
Godolphin Australia supported Itameri with Darley stallions Frosted in 2018, producing a filly and Exosphere in 2019 who in the future will likely race for Godolphin's Australian operation.
Street Boss is currently standing the Northern-hemisphere breeding season at a fee of $20,000 at Jonabell Farm, Kentucky.
