Exceed And Excel’s Stakes-placed three-year-old son Highland Beat flew home to claim the Listed A.R. Creswick Series Final Stakes over 1200m at Flemington on Saturday 9 July, in the process earning his first victory at Stakes level.
The $140,000 Magic Millions graduate showed impressive speed in the final stages of the race as he charged down the outside of the course to secure a dominant win ahead of runner up and tough contender Hay Bale.
Bred by Glenlogan Park Pty Ltd, Highland Beat is the sole winner out of Stakes-placed mare Highland Daughter, herself a half-sister to Champion Ryan.
Exceed And Excel is the sire of over 130 individual Stakes winners and 13 this year alone. His most recent success is Australian-bred Mr Stunning who won the G2 Sprint Cup in Hong Kong.
Exceed And Excel stands at Kelvinside, NSW, for a fee of $110,000.
