Hong Kong’s leading sprinter confirmed his place among the best in the world in taking out his second G1 Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin on Sunday, 9 December.
In another top-level success for Darley’s supreme source of speed, Exceed And Excel, Mr Stunning asserted complete superiority over a top-class international field.
Trained by the local Frankie Lor and ridden by South African Karis Teetan, Mr Stunning took up a perfect position behind the leading pair before being produced at the 200m and going on to score by three-quarters-of-a-length from last year’s runner-up D B Pin.
Mr Stunning has been placed at each of his five starts since winning last year’s G1 Hong Kong Sprint, but Lor said he had been primed for his latest assignment.
“We had him right at his peak today and he showed the world what he can do,” Lor said.
Mr Stunning is out of the Dayjur mare With Fervour, a maiden on the track but the producer of seven winners from her eight foals to race.
He is one of 151 Stakes winners for Exceed And Excel and one of his 11 G1 winners.
